Summer Sail Camp
Weekly sailing camp instruction designed for kids 7 to 17 years old. The boats used are provided from the SMWYC fleet of US Sabot Centerboard Prams, RS Teras, Optimist Prams, Lasers, CFJs, C420, Nikki Foiling Crafts, Wings, 29er and Santana 20s to meet the needs of students of all sizes and abilities. Most of our dedicated and talented Instructors are certified by US Sailing or their home country equivalent. Beginning student to instructor ratio is a maximum of 6:1.
Back for 2023!
- A new class for novice sailors called "Second Week". The perfect follow up to a First Timer class. Students build on their skills in a small group with lots of time on the water
- Smaller Intermediate class sizes so all sailors will enjoy sailing our RS Teras with both Sport and Pro sails
- A new class for "Advanced Intermediates" where students build more skills on CFJs and Lasers
- "Advanced" sailors will be pushed to their limits on our Feva, C420s, 29er, Nikkis, Wings and Santana 20s
- Three "Cruises" (weeks of 6/26, 7/10 and 7/31) will feature a 3-day cruise to Catalina on a 38 foot Catamaran

Registration for 2023 Summer Sail Camp is open!
We have more great stuff to offer this summer. Back for 2023 is the Second Week class, Cruise Weeks and a redefinition of Advanced classes. Why mess with a good thing you ask? We thought hard about the students' experiences and learned a few things about how to incorporate the Nikkis, Keel Boats, wing foiling and the 29er. Our cruises to Catalina were such an overwhelming success we decided cruises are here to stay. Click on our Summer Sail Camp tab, learn more and make your reservations. We are looking forward to making this an epic summer of sailing!

2020 Sail Camp is sold out
Demand for Sail Camp has been extremely strong and most sessions are already closed to registration due to the size of the waitlists. Sessions that are open to register have waitlists short enough that there is a small possibility that a new registrant could be accepted off the waitlist. We are looking at ways to provide additional alternatives to help get more folks on the water and will announce them when we have staff confirmed to accommdate addition sessions or offerings.

Sail Camp is open and Reopening Protocol is posted!
Sail Camp starts June 15 and we are happy to be able to provide a safe, healthy and fun way for youth sailors to get out of the house and get some fresh air. Naturally, Sail Camp this year will be unlike any we've held before. We have a stringent protocol to follow to reduce the chance of infection and a link to our required protocaol posting is below.

Preliminary Reopening Plan is available
The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has been and still is unbelievable but at some point local and state restrictions on activities will start easing and we want to be ready to get back on the water in a safe and responsible manner. As reopening guidance is produced and modified we have tried to stay on top of guidelines that are pertinent to camps, schools and youth sports. This plan will help us prepare our facilities and staff for new procedures and protocols and, hopefully, help families make plans for the summer. We expect lots of changes over the next couple of weeks and feel the more feedback we receive the better so send your feedback to This email address is being protected from spambots. We have the flexibility to add days if you like or create special classes for groups. Visit of Programs page or email us for more information.
